Handcut collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising identifier, and no server belonging to us for your video to be sent to. Editing, captioning and exporting all happen on your iPhone.
Nothing. Our App Store privacy label reads “Data Not Collected”. That is a statement about what the app is capable of, not about what we choose to do: the app links no networking framework and contains no networking code outside Apple’s own StoreKit.
Your footage never leaves your device. Captions are produced by Apple’s on-device speech recognition with network recognition explicitly disabled and no fallback path.
Your media never leaves your device. Your project structure — the small file describing your cuts and settings — syncs through your own iCloud backup, which we have no access to, so a new iPhone can restore your work.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Apple tells the app whether a purchase is active; nothing identifying you reaches us, because there is no “us” to reach — the app links no networking code with which to reach anyone.
Using the share sheet, or sending a video to another app, hands the file to software we do not control. Once it leaves Handcut it is governed by that app’s privacy policy, not this one.
Handcut collects no data from anyone, of any age.
If this policy ever changes, the change will be dated here. A change that introduced data collection would require a new App Store privacy label, which is visible on the listing before you install.

Reviewed by counsel? Not yet. These pages are written to match what the app actually does, clause by clause, so a lawyer has something accurate to correct rather than boilerplate to rewrite. One item needs attention before launch: the governing-law clause is distributed to 175 territories including the EU, where a non-EU trader selling to consumers carries obligations that a governing-law clause does not displace.
