Terms of Use — Handcut

Effective 1 August 2026. These terms govern your use of the Handcut iOS app, published by Daler Soliev (Tajikistan).

The short version

Handcut is a video editor that runs on your device. Your videos are yours. We do not collect them, we cannot see them, and there is no account to create. Pay us or do not — either way there is no watermark on your exports.

What you may do

Use Handcut to edit and export as many videos as you like, for personal or commercial purposes, on any device signed in to your Apple Account, under the terms of Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. There is no export limit, no project limit and no video-length limit on any tier, including the free one.

You own your output. We claim no rights in anything you make. We do not need a licence to your content because your content never reaches us.

What you may not do

• Reverse-engineer, decompile or redistribute the app, except where that restriction is void under the law that applies to you.
• Use Handcut to create material that is unlawful where you are, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Use it to process footage you have no right to process.

Purchases

Handcut Pro is offered as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy.

• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period.
• The free trial is offered on the annual plan only, and only to accounts that have not used it before. If you do not cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid year.
• The lifetime purchase is a one-time, non-consumable purchase. It does not renew and cannot be cancelled, because there is nothing to cancel.
• Apple takes the payment, not us. We never see your card. Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue a refund on Apple's behalf, though we would like to be able to.

Your purchase is recognised by reading Apple's own entitlement record on your device. We run no server that tracks what you have bought.

Captions and speech

Automatic captions are produced by Apple's on-device speech recognition. Your audio is not uploaded, and there is no network fallback — if the language is not available offline on your device, the feature reports that rather than sending your audio somewhere.

Recognition accuracy varies with audio quality, accent and language. Captions are a starting point you are expected to edit, not a transcript we warrant to be correct.

Availability, and changes to the app

We may add, change or remove features. If a change removes something you paid for, that is a refund conversation, not a terms conversation — write to us.

Handcut is provided as-is. To the extent the law where you live permits, we exclude implied warranties, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Ending these terms

You may stop using Handcut at any time by deleting it; your exported videos stay in your photo library. We may end your licence if you materially breach these terms, which in practice means using the app to break the law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Tajikistan. If you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the law where you live, and nothing here removes them.

Reviewed by counsel? Not yet. These pages are written to match what the app actually does, clause by clause, so a lawyer has something accurate to correct rather than boilerplate to rewrite. Two items are worth an hour of a lawyer's time before launch: the app is distributed to 175 territories including the EU, where a non-EU trader selling to consumers has Digital Services Act and consumer-law obligations that a governing-law clause naming Tajikistan does not displace; and consumer-protection law in the buyer's country generally overrides a seller's choice of law regardless of what this page says.

This is not legal advice. It is a plain-language document written to match what the app actually does, so that a lawyer reviewing it has something accurate to correct rather than boilerplate to rewrite. Have it reviewed before launch, particularly the liability and governing-law clauses, which are the two that vary most by jurisdiction.
